Specifications
| Specification | Value | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Weight | 32 g | Bixar product sheet |
| Protection | IP67: dust and temporary immersion (up to 1 m, 30 min). Not designed for prolonged swimming | Stated by Bixar |
| Network | 4G, with built-in SIM: nothing to insert | Bixar product sheet |
| Positioning | GPS, with backup location via Wi-Fi and mobile masts (less accurate) | Stated by Bixar |
| Accuracy | 2 to 10 metres in favourable conditions (clear sky) | Stated by Bixar, not measured by a third party |
| Battery life | Up to 21 days in Power Saving mode, up to 7 days at an intermediate update rate | Maximums observed in Bixar internal tests, not certified by a third party, not guaranteed |
| Battery life in LIVE mode | Not stated until measured | Deliberately omitted |
| History | 365 days | Stated by Bixar |
| Charging | About 20 minutes, charging cable supplied | Stated by Bixar |
| Coverage | France and the European Union included. Outside the European Union: write to bixar@bixar.co to find out about coverage at your destination | Stated by Bixar; no other country or figure published |
These values are stated by Bixar. Battery life figures are maximums observed in internal tests, not a guarantee: they drop with a weak signal, poor coverage, cold weather and more frequent tracking. The test protocol has not been published yet.
A 4G GPS calculates its position using satellites, then sends it over the mobile network. So it works wherever there is mobile coverage, with no phone nearby, unlike a Bluetooth tracker or an AirTag-type tag, which relies on the devices around it. In areas without mobile coverage, the position is not reported immediately. Inside a building, GPS is less accurate: backup location via Wi-Fi and mobile masts takes over, with reduced accuracy.
S, M or L collar supplied (sizes and neck measurements in the FAQ). Safe zones around the house, the garden or your holiday spot, recorded walks, activity tracking.
Phoenix can be fitted on a cat. Check your cat’s weight and the collar size before ordering; our support team can help at bixar@bixar.co.

Subscription
A 4G GPS always needs the mobile network: “no subscription” means the connectivity is already paid for, not that there is none. With the Noir & Champagne edition, 4G is included, with no annual renewal, for the whole working life of the device, in France and the European Union. You pay for the GPS once (€220.00 incl. VAT), and there is nothing to renew.
Same tracker, same collar, same app: only the length of included connectivity differs. A Bluetooth tracker, like an AirTag, has no connectivity fees but only gives a location when it is near a phone.
Compare
At purchase, the Phoenix device (€120 or €220) costs more than the competitors’ devices surveyed that are sold without a service, because 4G connectivity is included: over one year, the Graphite & Rouge edition is the cheapest in the comparison, all costs included. Its weak points are set out in the comparison: IP67 water resistance (some competitors are IP68) and battery life measurements that are still internal. Competitor prices surveyed on 1 November 2026.
Phoenix does not claim any health measurement (such as heart rate) or diagnosis, and does not guarantee that a pet will be found: the location depends on the GPS signal and the mobile network.

Reviews from Bixar GPS users, published with the written consent of their authors, who proofread the text shown.
Questions
For a dog that goes out without you, a 4G GPS, which works with no phone nearby, locates them wherever there is network coverage. Bixar Phoenix weighs 32 g, records walks and sends an alert when the dog leaves a safe zone.
